What this result means
Walking pace literacy helps you plan time for a known distance or understand how brisk a walk felt. Moderate-intensity walking is often ‘brisk’ enough that you can talk but not sing comfortably.
Pace alone does not measure fitness comprehensively and does not diagnose cardiovascular disease.
How we calculate it
- Pace = time ÷ distance (shown as minutes per mile or per kilometer).
- Optional: estimated finish time = desired pace × distance.
- We convert between miles and kilometers using 1 mile = 1.60934 km.
Limitations
- Hills, heat, terrain, and stop lights change real-world pace.
- Not a VO₂ max test or cardiac clearance tool.
- People with chest pain, uncontrolled conditions, or mobility limits need personalized guidance.
