Our purpose
Gilead Essentials publishes nurse-informed health education and practical wellness tools. Content is for general education only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it does not replace care from your own clinician.
Who writes our articles
Lead author: Abigael Ayobami, RN, BSN, Registered Nurse & Lead Author. Learn more on the author profile. Guest or supporting contributors, if added later, will be named on the pieces they write.
How topics are selected
We prioritize everyday wellness questions readers can act on safely — especially sleep & recovery, women's health basics, nutrition & hydration, and prevention literacy — plus related educational tools. We avoid content that encourages self-diagnosis or calculates prescription drug doses.
How sources are chosen
Acceptable sources typically include:
- Government and public-health agencies (CDC, NIH, FDA, MedlinePlus, and similar)
- Professional society guidance when relevant
- Peer-reviewed summaries or major medical references when useful for context
Substantial articles include a Sources / References section with outbound links. Clinical-sounding recommendations should be supported by a linked source where practical.
Medical review process
We only label content as “medically reviewed” when a qualified professional has actually reviewed that piece. Until then, articles show author credentials and review dates without claiming medical review.
AI usage policy
Optional AI tools may help with clarity, structure, or drafting support inside the admin portal. AI output is not published unchecked. Final educational content is reviewed by our editorial team for accuracy, tone, and safety boundaries before it goes live.
Corrections
If we find an error, we correct it promptly. Material corrections may be noted on the page or in the last-reviewed date. Report issues to hello@gileadessentials.com.
How often articles are reviewed
Priority topics (sleep, women's health, nutrition, prevention) are reviewed when guidance changes or at least periodically as the library grows. Articles display Published and Last reviewed dates.
Education vs medical advice
Our tools and articles explain concepts and soft estimates. They do not create a clinician–patient relationship. Personal decisions belong with you and your healthcare professional. See the Medical Disclaimer.
