Calorie needs estimate
Rough daily energy needs from a common resting-metabolism equation plus activity. Planning aid only.
≈ 1892 kcal/day
Estimated resting needs (BMR) ≈ 1376 kcal/day, then adjusted for activity. Planning aid only.
What this result means
This tool estimates resting metabolic needs (Mifflin-St Jeor) and multiplies by an activity factor for a rough daily energy range. It is a planning aid, not a weight-loss prescription.
Weight change depends on long-term energy balance, medical factors, medications, sleep, and adherence. Aggressive calorie cuts can be unsafe.
How we calculate it
- Mifflin-St Jeor BMR (kcal/day):
- Men: 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age + 5
- Women: 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age − 161
- Maintenance estimate ≈ BMR × activity factor (sedentary 1.2 through higher activity multipliers).
Limitations
- Equations imperfectly predict individuals — especially with higher muscle mass, illness, pregnancy, or metabolic adaptation.
- Not appropriate as sole guidance for eating disorders, underweight status, or medically complex diets.
- Does not create a meal plan or diagnose thyroid/metabolic disease.
